Team History

 

  • Robotics Team proposed in 2007
    • Mr. Michael Rubin (physics teacher) was the first official club moderator.
  • The club started out with LEGO Mindstorms robotics kits in a small storage closet. (The team has since moved into a larger garage).
    • Team moves on to VEX Robotics Kits to better familiarize themselves with engineering concepts.
  • Four months later, the club had a small-scale VEX competition, pitting each team against each other.
  • Registered with FIRST, competing in the 2008 game, FIRST “Overdrive”.
    • Rookie Team 2367 from Saint Francis High School, Mountain View
    • Attended the San Jose State Regional Competition.
  • In recent years, the students participated in the 2016 First Robotics Competition, FIRST “Stronghold”.
    • Largest successes in recent memory, ending up, at the Silicon Valley Regional Competition, in the top 24 of 60 teams.
  • In 2017, the team participated in the 2017 game, FIRST “Steamworks”, where a new, younger, determined leadership stepped in allowing for new minds to allow the club to prosper.
  • In 2018, the team was selected to the 2nd seed alliance at the Sacramento Regional and qualified to the semifinals for the first time in club history. Then, at the Silicon Valley Regional, we joined the 1st seed alliance, won our first event, and gained an entrance to the World Championships. In the Newton Division at the Houston Championship, we ranked 17th out of the 64 teams present.
